Care & Support cell is established to enhance the reach of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives taken for the benefit of People Living with HIV (PLH). First of such initiative under Care & Support cell was setting up of TAAL (Treatment, Adherence, Advocacy and Literacy) center in January 2006 at Pune in association with INP+ and NMP+. TAAL is an exclusive pharmacy that is run by positive people for positive people. TAAL is a one stop treatment shop where maximum services are available under one roof.

TAAL aims to provide uninhibited access to:

• Peer counseling
• HIV medication at low cost
• Referral services

NMP+ and Emcure Pharmaceuticals have come forward to extend its support towards the social cause by making the drugs available at subsidized prices. Apart from Pune, TAAL centers are operational at Nagpur, Kalyan, Kolhapur and Panvel. TAAL has been receiving encouraging response from all parts of Maharashtra. More than 2800 clients are registered at TAAL and over 1000 clients are accessing services. Clients visiting TAAL centers are briefed about various sources of availing medicines, including Govt. run free ART centers and are linked to these centers as per their choice.

Free ARV Therapy
As a CSR initiative PLHs in need of ARV medication were adopted under the aegis of TAAL for free ARV therapy. Currently 10 PLHs are receiving 1st line or 2nd line medication free of cost.

Awareness Activities
TAAL is also actively involved in HIV sensitization through activities such as rallies, campaigns, street plays and positive talk at various forums. In association with NMP+, developed a Health Diary for the use of PLH which covers various issues related to HIV management.

Celebrity support
TAAL has seen many celebrities pledging their support towards the cause. Film personalities Nana Patekar, Rati Agnihotri, Riya Sen, Geeta Basra have visited TAAL on various occasion and won hearts of PLH community. Cricketer R.P. Singh and veteran cricketer Padmabhushan Mr. Chandu Borde, Dr. Umesh Dalvi; Senior Director- Bristol-Myers Squibb have visited TAAL and shown solidarity towards the cause.
